The experience we bring
At Swarzy, you work directly with our CEO, Cal Freitas. We bring hands-on engineering and leadership experience to your website and app projects.
Our approach draws on Cal’s 18 years of industry experience, including 9 years at Amazon and, since 2020, projects for Microsoft, Home Instead, P Value Partners, and startups in full-time, contract, and consulting roles.
We understand the demands of building and operating products at scale. Cal’s background includes leading marketplace engineering teams at a startup from March 2023 to January 2025, spanning a website with 1,000+ integrated merchants and hundreds of thousands of products, iOS and Android apps, and Node.js and Kotlin back-end services.

In 2022, Cal Freitas rebuilt Anedot's integrations feature as part of a migration from a Ruby on Rails front-end to React.js with a Rails API. The new UI supported 30+ integrations at launch, and made it much simpler for the product team and engineering team to add new integrations. See showcase »
How we work with partners
We bring experience working with partners such as Vantage International to architect, build, and deliver websites for clients. Through projects led by Cal, that experience spans assembling development teams, managing engineers, defining architecture, and delivering new website features.
Our performance and user experience work draws on Cal’s assessments and reviews for Eastern European e-commerce sites, including eMag and Pigu.
